As practitioners are aware, the hardest part in any treatment is correct diagnosis. This 3-day (20 hour) blended learning workshop (1 day online and 2 day face-to-face) is practically based and has been designed to enable a practitioner to utilise Traditional Chinese medicine concepts and to integrate them into modern Western diagnostic methods to increase accurate identification and treatment of Channel Sinew and Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions.

This course is aimed at Acupuncture and Tui Na practitioners who wish to integrate Traditional East Asian Medicine (TEAM - including Applied Channel Theory) and Western orthopaedic examination.

The course focuses on:

  • Applied Channel Theory and the Channel Sinew Meridians;

  • A systematic approach to the diagnosis and treatment of MSK conditions to improve patient outcomes;

  • An introduction to Gua Sha and bleeding / pricking the vessels

  • An introduction to some basic Tui Na and Western soft tissue and diagnostic techniques (including "Release the Brakes")

Alex Brazkiewicz is an Osteopath, Classical Acupuncture and Tui Na Practitioner, Paramedic and Martial Arts Instructor.

He has a special interest in, and a passion for, treating MSK conditions having studied Acupuncture and Tui Na extensively in the UK and China - the latter under Professor Wang Ju-Yi and Jason Robertson (co-authors of "Applied Channel theory") and at the Tui Na Massage Hospital in Beijing.  He was one of the first practitioners in the UK to complete Arya Nielson's full diploma course in Gua Sha and has assisted her in teaching the practicum in the UK.
