Acupuncture Student Clinics - New Patient Appointments

Welcome to the CCA Acupuncture Student Clinic. Our Student Clinic is a low cost, multi-bed acupuncture teaching clinic. You will be treated by our third-year students in a highly supervised clinical setting, to ensure you receive the appropriate treatment tailored to your specific needs.

 

Your first appointment will include a full Initial Consultation and treatment. This appointment can last up to 1h 45 min. As only 8 appointments with the same Acupuncture Student Practitioner are permitted, we strongly recommend that you discuss booking the follow-up treatments* with your Student Practitioner during your visit.

 

*PLEASE NOTE: You can only book a New Patient Appointment if it is your first appointment with us in this 2023-24 academic year.  If you have already been to our Student Clinic in this 2023-24 academic year, please book a Follow-Up Appointment.

 

 

The Acupuncture Student Clinic - What to Consider

 

  • Please note our Student Clinic is on the 2nd floor. There is no passenger lift in our building.

  • This is a multi-bedded clinic, where cubicles are separated by a curtain. Please email clinic@citycollege.ac.uk if your condition requires a separate treatment space (subject to availability).

​

  • Your Student Practitioner may be male or female. The fully qualified Supervisor, who may be male or female, might also come into your cubicle. There may be one or two further Students on Clinical Observation training days, and these also may be male or female*. 

​

  • New Patient appointments will take approximately 90-145 minutes.

​

  • You will be emailed forms in advance of your appointment.  Please familiarise yourself with the information required in the forms and bring the information with you to your first appointment.

​

  • Acupuncture requires a Patient to remove or loosen various items of clothing, but your modesty will always be preserved.

​

  • We do not provide towels to cover Patients during treatments. If you feel you prefer to use a towel/shawl/pashmina during your treatment, please do bring your own towel/shawl/pashmina with you to your appointment.

 

*Please note: We are not able to guarantee a male or a female Student Practitioner and/or a male or a female Supervisor. All Patients must book their appointments on this basis, and agree that they accept this information.

Cancellation Policy

​

Please note, we have a minimum 24-hour advance cancellation policy. If you book an appointment, and you find that you are unable to attend, please email us immediately to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you cancel less than 24 hours prior to the appointment, or if you are a ‘No-show’ for your appointment, please be aware that you will be charged the full amount as a cancellation charge.
